How much can the difference matter?
For ten licenses, the table produces an annual reference cost of $2,878.80 for Acrobat Pro for teams or $1,599.90 for Foxit Editor+. The $1,278.90 difference is calculated from published subscriptions; it excludes implementation, separately purchased administration, and any negotiated discount.
That is a reason to test Foxit, not proof that every business should switch. If staff rely on specialized forms, document-management integrations, PDF accessibility validation, or repeatable production actions, test those exact files and workflows before replacing licenses.
Choose the edition that solves the actual problem
Foxit PDF Editor is the lower-cost starting point for desktop and web editing. Editor+ becomes relevant when mobile editing or its stated eSign allowance is needed. Acrobat Pro for teams remains a sensible shortlist when existing Adobe administration, document standards, and staff workflows make switching costly.
Do not treat a drawn signature in a PDF as equivalent to a managed signature-request workflow with routing, tracking, and an audit trail. Similarly, hiding text behind a black box is not the same as applying redaction correctly. Include a sample contract and a sample sensitive document in the evaluation.
Before renewing, count the people who actually edit PDFs. Staff who only open or review documents may not need the same paid edition as the person preparing contracts. Sigma can help compare the appropriate license mix and the complete annual cost.
Questions to ask before you buy
- How many people edit PDFs, rather than just read them?
- Do we need redaction, OCR, forms or accessibility checks?
- How many signature requests do we send each year?
- Do we prefer a subscription or a perpetual license?
